What this is
Lumaveron is a small, independent index of hotels. It covers four kinds of property and nothing else: art hotels, capsule hotels, casino hotels and ice hotels. There are eleven entries in total.
Each kind gets its own colour and its own page. The colours do a job: they tell you which category you are in, wherever you are on the site.
How entries are chosen
Fit comes first. An art hotel needs art at the centre of how it runs. A capsule hotel needs pods. A casino hotel is described as a hotel, with the gaming floor as one facility. The ice category holds the one hotel rebuilt from river ice every winter.
Before an entry goes up, we check that the property is operating under the name shown and still fits its category. If a hotel closes or changes in a way that breaks the fit, it is replaced.
What you won't find
- Booking tools, prices or availability.
- Star ratings, scores or quoted reviews.
- Paid placements. No hotel pays to appear, and none is told in advance that it will.
Descriptions stick to general, lasting facts: setting, format, the character of the rooms. Opening hours, rates and policies change, so check those with the hotel.
