Privacy Policy
Lumaveron is built to be read, not mined. This policy explains what information we do and do not handle when you use the Australian Career Atlas.
Last updated: June 2025
Privacy by design
Lumaveron (lumaveron.com) is an independent, non-commercial reference platform. We do not sell training, enrol students, run advertising or operate lead-generation funnels. Our approach to privacy follows from that: we aim to collect as little personal information as possible.
On this reference build, most interactive elements — including the contact form and newsletter registration — are front-end demonstrations only. They validate in your browser but do not transmit or store your details on our servers.
Who we are
Lumaveron operates the Australian Career Atlas. For privacy enquiries, use the contact page. We are based in Australia and this policy is written with Australian privacy principles in mind, including the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) where it applies to us.
Information we collect
Information you provide
If you use the contact form or newsletter field on a live deployment that processes submissions, we may receive whatever you choose to enter — typically a name, email address and message. On this reference build, nothing you type is sent or stored.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, a live hosting environment may record standard technical data when you visit — for example IP address, browser type, device type, referring URL and pages viewed. This is usually handled by the hosting provider or analytics tools, not by Lumaveron directly, and is used to keep the site secure and understand general usage patterns.
We do not use this site to build individual profiles, retarget visitors or sell data to third parties.
Cookies and similar technologies
We may use essential cookies required for basic site operation. If analytics or preference cookies are introduced on a live deployment, they will be limited to what is reasonably necessary and described here when active. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
How we use information
Where information is collected on a live deployment, we use it only to:
- respond to enquiries, corrections or topic suggestions you send us;
- maintain and improve the Atlas;
- protect the security and integrity of the site;
- comply with applicable law.
We do not use your information for unsolicited marketing, and we do not pass it to training providers, recruiters or advertisers.
Disclosure to third parties
We do not sell personal information. We may share limited data with service providers who help us operate the site — for example hosting, email delivery or security — and only to the extent needed for them to perform that work. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, users or the public.
Overseas disclosure
Some infrastructure providers may process data outside Australia. Where that occurs on a live deployment, we take reasonable steps to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place consistent with Australian privacy expectations.
Retention
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected — for example, to resolve a contact enquiry — or as required by law. On this reference build, no personal information is retained because none is collected.
Your rights
Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information we hold about you, or to complain about how we handle it. To exercise these rights, contact us via the contact page. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
Children
The Atlas is general educational reference material. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information on a live deployment, please contact us so we can address it.
Links to other sites
Our pages may link to external Australian authorities, regulators or other resources. Those sites have their own privacy practices. We are not responsible for how third parties handle your information.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
